National PTA DEI Grant: Year 2!

Harrison Park PTA is honored to continue work as part of National PTA's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion grant cohort. We were awarded the grant for the 2021/22 school year and were accepted to continue in the program for the 2022/23 school year. This $250 grant will be used to support listening sessions with students and their families to learn about what helps them feel connected to school and the school community. Last year's feedback helped support Friday Clubs for middle school students this year along with the creation of space to practice mindfulness & meditation in one of the school courtyards.

National PTA Healthy Minds Grant!

Harrison Park PTA is honored to be one of 50 local PTA units to receive the Healthy Minds grant sponsored by New York Life Foundation. This $2,500 grant will be used to deliver tools families need to help make mental health a daily priority as part of National PTA's Healthy Minds program.

Modern Band Donor's Choose Campaign:

Mr. Ford's Donor's Choose campaign to raise funds needed to help take Harrison Park's Modern Band music technology class to the next level was a succeess!  Thank you to everyone who donated!

Family Art & Culture Event at PCC: 5/5

The Furin Project Symposium is here! The culmination of APANO’s catalyst artist Midori Hirose, this has been a year-long community and place-making art project. Ceramic bells made by Midori and the community are now installed across the street from APANO at PCC SE Art Gallery in the Student Commons Building! Join us and view the amazing creations on Friday, May 5.

Where: This event involves a short walking tour – maps will be provided!

Women's History Month

Middle School Winter Activity Day: 3/3

Harrison Park School will be hosting a middle school activities night on Friday, February 24th from 3:45-5:15pm in the school gymnasiums for grades 6th-8th. There will be some academic criteria in order for students to be eligible to attend. We are excited to host this fun evening for our students. If you would like to volunteer to help, please contact the school office. HP PTA is providing lights, sound, decorations, and support! Go Bulldogs!

February is a time to remember & acknowledge over 400 years of Black American heritage and contributions in these United States.  Lunar New Year 2023

Say goodbye to the Tiger and hello to the Rabbit (Chinese calendar) & Cat (Vietnamese calendar)! This year the festival begins January 22, 2023 and runs for 15 days, ending with the Lantern Festival. Click on the picture above to learn more about this important festival throughout Asia.

February Fundraiser

Need pizza for the big game? Order soon! During the month of February we are partnering with Little Caesars. By clicking on the picture above, or by using this link, you can get pizza kits sent right to your home via Fedex. A fun activity for the kids to assemble and bake. Or there is a coupon code option to order at a location near you.

Out of state friends and family they deliver the kits to you too even if you don't have a little Caesars near by.

Scholastic Book Fair 2/6 to 2/10

The Scholastic Book Fair is back! Books make great gifts and great rewards for your hardworking students. The February Book Fair will be held in the Harrison Park School Library from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm Monday February 6th through Friday February 10th.

Come one, come all to the Winter Carnival! Staff planned some fun and exciting events and we were proud to help out. Students had a lot of fun!

UIGS: Unit in Good Standing

Our annual compliance work is in full swing. Our IRS & Oregon DOJ filings are due November 15th. Copies of all UIGS filings are due to Oregon PTA November 30th.

Native American Heritage Month

Nov. 1st to Nov. 30th: A time to remember and honor the great contributions and rich history of the more than 570 tribes of indigenous Americans in what is now called the United States. Apply Harvest Thursday Nov. 10th!

Psst...the apple harvest event is back! The event starts at 5:00 PM and lasts until 7:00 PM. Come join the fun!

Garden Work Party Friday Nov. 4th!

Friday November 4th there will be Garden Work party in collaboration with Grow Portland! We will be preparing the sensory garden for winter. Snacks will be provided. Kids are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult as this is an unsupervised event. Translated flyers are available on our Flyers tab.
